Bucher Municipal shortlisted for prestigious DfT Special Recognition Award
We’re thrilled that Bucher Municipal has been shortlisted for the Best Use of Technology in the Highways and Transportation Sector Award at the DfT Special Recognition Awards 2025, hosted by the Local Council Roads Innovation Group (LCRIG).
The shortlisting recognises the development of Bucher Assist. Designed to make winter maintenance safer and smarter, Assist uses real-time data and automation to optimise salt spreading, reduce driver workload, and minimise environmental impact.
By helping operators cut waste, improve efficiency, and boost safety on the roads, Bucher Assist is already transforming gritting operations across the UK and Europe.
“We’re proud to see Bucher Assist recognised on this stage,” said Andre Manson, Product Manager – Winter (UK) at Bucher Municipal. “This shortlisting reflects our commitment to driving innovation that directly benefits road users, local authorities, and the environment.”
The winners will be announced during the Strictly Highways awards ceremony at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool on 1 October 2025.
