Bucher Municipal donates a MaxPowa V65 sweeper in Centenary Charity Auction

Bucher Municipal has donated a V65 truck mounted sweeper to a charity auction as part of our centenary celebrations.

The winning bid of £156,000 was placed by L Lynch Plant Hire at a grand charity auction and gala dinner held for our customers in September at The British Motor Museum near Birmingham. The museum celebrates the history of mechanical vehicles in the UK, which ties in very nicely with our centenary.

Guests were welcomed to the event by Martin Starkey, Managing Director TMS, and was attended by over a hundred key customers and local councils, as well as representatives from the three charities we are supporting this year as part of our centenary events.

The charities are The Children’s Trust, for children with brain injuries, The Brigitte Trust, supporting people with life-limiting conditions, and Beatitudes, the community hub and good-as-new shop in Dorking, receiving 60%, 30% and 10% respectively of the money raised at all our events this year.

Each of the charities addressed the attendees at the gala dinner, speaking powerfully about the work they do and the difference our donations will make.

The sweeper to be auctioned had been sign-written with signatures from staff at Dorking who had all been involved in producing it, and was given special dispensation to be displayed alongside the exhibits at the motor museum.

Following the auction and dinner, guests took part in a Casino Night at which a further £2,500 was raised together with proceeds from a raffle.

The event was a huge success, and we can be pleased that we are helping such deserving causes thanks to Bucher Municipal’s generosity.
